Hello, welcome to Writer to Writer Wednesday, we are so very glad to have you with us. The Hellfire Herald would like to extend a warm welcome to Jaidis Shaw.
How are you doing today?
Jaidis: I’m doing great, thank you for asking! I’m so excited to be here!
Keira: You have a story that you just published though Createspace entitled Destiny Awaits. What is that about?
Jaidis: The female lead, Alayna, has lost everything she cares about and she moves to try and start over. Her new life takes a turn for the paranormal when a vampire attacks her but is unable to finish the job. Alayna struggles to adapt to the new world she has been brought into while fighting her feelings for her super sexy neighbor, Jayden.
Keira: What made you choose that title?
Jaidis: When I first began the story it had a completely different storyline. I was forced to put it away for a few years and when I came back to the story, I felt it needed redone. I was so used to the title that I tweaked the new storyline to fit because I couldn’t imagine it being called anything else.
Keira: Where did the idea for your story come from?
Jaidis: All of my story ideas come from dreams that I have. I’ll dream of a character and the basic premise of the story and then I just fill in the blanks.
Keira: Please share a particular detail about one of characters, please.
Jaidis: Alayna has never believed in magic or the paranormal, even though she can see visions in water. Her visions do help her to make the transition once she realizes that supernatural beings do exist.
Keira: Please tell us about any future projects you are planning.
Jaidis: I have outlined book two in the Juniper Grove Chronicles. Each book is stand-alone so book two will focus on a minor character, Violet, that readers can meet in Destiny Awaits.
I have also started work on a paranormal suspense/thriller that will not be YA like Destiny Awaits is. It is tentatively titled The Stager and is about an assassin who has a unique ability that allows her to excel at anything she desires.
Keira: Are you currently running any contests? What are they?
Jaidis: Anyone who frequents my blog knows that I always have several giveaways going at once. Personally, I have been making blog visits the whole month of May and there is usually a giveaway for Destiny Awaits included at each stop.
Keira: How many books have you written?
Jaidis: Destiny Awaits is my debut novel. I did test the waters by having a couple of short stories accepted for publication through Wicked East Press first.
Keira: We have a special place for unpublished writers in our hearts, here at the Hellfire Herald. So what advice would you give to an unpublished writer?
Jaidis: If you want to be a published author then make it happen. Read books in various genres but especially in the genre that you want to write in. Try to pick a creative idea that hasn’t been done before. If it has been done, find a way to put a fresh spin on it and make it your own. Take the time to have a professional editor go over your story and be open to suggestions because you want to release a book that you can be proud of.
Let’s get personal…
Keira: Do you work at job outside the home or is this your only career?
Jaidis: I don’t have a job outside of the home because I am lucky enough to work from home. I am the Book Tour Coordinator for Nurture Your BOOKS so that is my day job. It is the perfect solution since I am a stay-at-home mom.
Keira: Are you a reader?
Jaidis: Of course! You shouldn’t be a writer unless you are a reader – they go hand in hand.
Keira: What do you wear, to write?
Jaidis: I love my yoga pants! I have several pairs and that is what I wear around the house. They are great to write in because they are super comfy.
Keira: Where in the Hell did you find time to write?
Jaidis: I don’t have any clue how I managed to finish a book! Luck I guess…
Keira: Can you share your blurb with us?
Twenty-year-old Alayna Scott receives visions around water, but even her foresight couldn’t prepare her for the tragic accident that claimed the lives of her parents. With everything she loves gone, Alayna packs up and moves to the small town of Juniper Grove in hopes of starting over.

Jayden McKnight can’t explain the attraction that he feels whenever Alayna is near, but he does know that he will do whatever it takes to win her heart. When a vampire selects Alayna as his next victim, Jayden will stop at nothing to ensure her safety – even if that means bringing Alayna into a world that she never knew existed.

Love blossoms, challenges are made and Alayna will find herself fighting not only to survive, but to understand what she has become.

WTW Wednesday Keira Kroft and RJ Parker

Interview between Keira Kroft and RJ Parker

Hello, welcome to Writer to Writer Wednesday, we are so very glad to have you with us. The Hellfire Herald would like to extend a warm welcome to RJ Parker

How are you doing today?

I'm good Keira thank you for asking.

Keira: Please tell us about any future projects you are planning.

RJ: Keira, I have several projects in the works including a book about kids who killed their parents and an international serial killer volume. I just released two of my books in paperback, The Serial Killer Compendium and Top Cases of The FBI. The FBI book will also be out in audiobook on May 18th. I am also working to publish for two other authors and co-author a book with a top name author.

Keira: How many books have you written?

RJ: I have six digital books of which two are in paperback as well.

Keira: We have a special place for unpublished writers in our hearts, here at the Hellfire Herald. So what advice would you give to an unpublished writer?

RJ: Publish it yourself. The Prime Select program that Amazon introduced in early December was a Blessing for many newbie authors.  Self-pub and when you have a book going free, do it for no less than 2 days. On the second day the downloads are building momentum and every download is like a mini billboard advertising your work. If you have another book, always include an excerpt in your book with direct links. Send out copies to top reviewers and place those reviews in your book as endorsements.

Let’s get personal…

Keira: Do you work at job outside the home or is this only career?

RJ: I am retired. I have two professional designations and worked in accounting and management all my carear.

Keira: Are you a reader?

RJ: I have been an avid reader and have been writing ARC reviews for many authors over several decades including Mariah Stewart, Lisa Gardner, Lisa Jackson, Alafair Burke, just to name a few. I am also a top reviewer for Amazon. I normally read 3-4 books per week...every week.

Keira: Do you have children?

RJ: I have twin sons who are 27 years old and two daughters who are 21 and 16. I have a 3 year old grandson and in October I my oldest daughter will be having a baby.

Keira: Is writing your only talent?

RJ: LOL Keira, I love spending time with my kids, I play guitar and sing, love gardening, I always say that I have two green thumbs and eight green fingers.

One lucky commenter will win a free e-copy of The Serial Killer Compendium in either paperback or digital, which every the commenter wishes.

Ace of Swords release day!

Finally the long awaited Ace of Swords, the second in the popular sword series is here! Details on How to Knights of Swords for free will be available tomorrow.
Synopsis
 London 1893
Nathan Valancourt, the Knight of Swords and lead warrior of the ancient human hybrid Taleian Vampire race travels to a Scottish castle owned by Lycan leader, Marcus Duart.  His task is to procure a cure for his beautiful Queen and only love Juliet who lies poisoned in a deep sleep.  Unexpectedly, Nathan finds himself caught in a trap set by a powerful witch who seeks revenge upon the Taleian Queen and her people.
On being awakened by the assistance of a powerful Magician, Juliet finds the witch has taken Nathan for her own and transformed him into a demon, hell bent on his Queen's destruction. Stripped of her powers and throne by the witch, Juliet is forced to flee for her life and evade death at Nathan's hand.
Juliet must find a way to remind Nathan of their strong love for each other and battle the witch to retrieve her throne and command her people once more.

Excerpt
My captor had won and now he was claiming his prize. He appeared approving of my silence and began dragging my body along the dock into the fog. I made every attempt to keep my face from the ground, but it scraped and bruised along the coarseness of the net and the cobbled path. I did not want to belong to anyone but Nathan and endure a life where another cold stranger was forced upon me. I would find a way to die. That would be my escape and Nathan’s proof of my loyalty and undying love, if he ever became whole again.
Gerard continued to drag my aching body over the cobbles along the docks to an unknown destination and into the fog that rolled over the Thames and on into the city. But he was to suddenly stop. I could see his shoulders tense as we all heard the sound of footsteps in the fog ahead, coming towards us in a determined manner.
Gerard ordered the two human men forward to investigate. Each of them drew a knife from their breast pocket as we watched them disappear into the ghostly white air that swirled around us to obscure our vision of what lay ahead. Our heightened Taleian vision was of no use in the fog, only the night. There was no sound apart from their own footsteps now, and that of the water and boats lapping against the side of the dock.
Silence reigned for a minute or more, and then the distant cry of a man was heard and the sharp slice of a sword moving through the damp air. The sound was followed by the bounce of an object hitting the ground and rolling out of the fog towards us. I gave a startled gasp when the human’s decapitated head appeared. Another slice of air and the next human’s head quickly followed with enough force to roll and touch Gerard’s foot. With an angry growl, Gerard kicked the head away from him and out into the Thames.
‘Give me my sword,’ he demanded of the Taleian that carried it.
The other two Taleians took a defensive stance as Gerard raised his sword ready to strike at his unseen opponent, and the determined footsteps continued once more towards us.
A tall shadow emerged from the fog in the dim gas light. He was immaculately dressed as a gentleman of birth, with an aristocratic elegance about him that no other seemed to bear. Relief flooded the blood that still pumped through my veins and my heart swelled with love.
Nathan was a terrifying haunting vision as he emerged from the night. His eyes were dark and were narrowed in anger at Gerard. For a brief moment they were drawn to my pathetic captive figure, and I felt the spark of his fear for me. It was only brief for it turned to explosive anger.
‘Another challenger?’ Gerard hissed. ‘I got here first. She is mine, and I am taking her.’
Nathan’s eyes widened.
‘You dare to take my Queen and defile her?’
Gerard gave a small nervous laugh. ‘Who are you to call her your Queen?’
His question appeared mute, for his curious and anxious tone told everyone he already knew who Nathan was.
Nathan’s voice was as dark and soft as melted chocolate when he spoke. It only served to heighten the menace of his position.
‘I am the Knight of Swords.’

Interview between Keira Kroft and Karina McKinley

Hello, welcome to Writer to Writer Wednesday, we are so very glad to have you with us. The Hellfire Herald would like to extend a warm welcome to Karina McKinley

How are you doing today?  Thank you!  I’m doing well.  Thanks for having me!

Keira: You have a story coming out soon though Amazon entitled Anytime, Anywhere. What is that about?
Karina: It’s a collection of explicit erotica.  There will be multiple volumes.  Each volume is a collection of short stories featuring a variety of sexual scenarios and situations.  The situations are fairly common experiences, such as a movie, dance club, interviews, etc., with an added high sex element.

Keira: What made you choose that title?

Karina: I liked the ring it had.  It’s short and simple and implies a certain element of bold sexuality.

Keira: Where did the idea for your story come from?

Karina: I’ve been interested in explicit erotica for many years, as a reader.  I finally decided to write it myself.  I like writing about normal scenarios in which sexual encounters don’t “normally” happen, but many of us fantasize about them happening.  And then allowing the characters to live out many people’s fantasies.

Keira: Please share a particular detail about one of characters.

Karina: My characters are normal, everyday people.  They’re just more open to having sex in unexpected places than most of us are.  To answer your question about a particular character, Erica is a typical 30-something woman who’s dating.  She’s been on a few dates with Paul.  She likes his company, but the sparks just aren’t there.  He’s too boring for her.  Until their fifth date at a movie.  Paul shows a different side of him, which Erica finds really appealing.  I follow Erica and Paul through a few dates and their newfound sexual chemistry.

Keira: Please tell us about any future projects you are planning.

Karina: I plan to continue the Anytime, Anywhere series in multiple volumes.  I may also write other erotica that would not be a part of that series, if something jumps out at me or a really great, unusual idea hits.

Keira: Are you currently running any contests? What are they?

Karina: No, I am not currently running or participating in any contests.  I prefer to focus on writing and publishing at this time.

Keira: How many books have you written?

Karina: To date I have six separate erotica ebooks published.  Four of which contain unique stories, while the other 2 pull stories together from different works.  For example, I have Volumes I and II of “Anytime, Anywhere” available separately, but I also combined them in a “deluxe” edition that comes with a bonus story that isn’t found in either volume separately.  So I don’t count that as a totally separate, “new” piece, it’s just a way for a fan or a reader to make better use of their money and purchase both volumes at a reduced price rather than buying them individually.

Keira: We have a special place for unpublished writers in our hearts, here at the Hellfire Herald. So what advice would you give to an unpublished writer?

Karina: I would tell the unpublished writer to go for it!  If you feel a pull in your heart to write, then write!  If you believe you can make it, you can!  I’m a firm believer that our thoughts create our reality.  Whatever you think and more importantly, believe, is what will come to fruition in your life.  I’ve seen it time and time again in my own life.  You don’t have to know how it’ll all work out when you start.  The important thing is to just start!  Give it a shot.  Wouldn’t you rather try and have it not work out than never try and never know?  Life is short, so I believe you should always go for what interests you, whenever possible.  Another piece of advice I’d give is to listen to yourself first and foremost.  Lots of people will have opinions on what you should and shouldn’t do, what you should and shouldn’t write about and how to write it.  The best way to live without regrets is to do what YOU feel in your heart is right for YOU.  Whatever stories you have playing in your head, write those!

Let’s get personal…

Keira: Do you work at job outside the home or is this only career?

Karina: Writing is my career.  It still feels strange to tell people I’m a “writer” though when they ask.  Before working as a writer full-time, I was a teacher.  It was at the end of the 2011 school year that I decided I wanted to be a writer and quit my job in a school.  I definitely practice what I preach when it comes to doing what you love and following your heart.  I also do odd jobs for my grandmother, which provides me another source of income than just my writing.

Keira: What’s your favorite thing to do?

Karina: Spend time with animals!  Especially dogs and cats.  I volunteer at the local animal shelter in my area, spending time walking and playing with the dogs there.  Occasionally the cats too (playing with, not walking).  I also have 4 dogs at my house right now, and 3 cats, and they are a great source of happiness and love!

Keira: Are you a reader?

Karina: Yes!  I love reading and have recently gotten my first ereader, which I love!  It makes it so much easier.  I especially like looking for “unknown” authors.  My favorite genre to read for pleasure (aside from erotica) is contemporary fiction.

Keira: Is writing your only talent?

Karina: No, I’m also a runner.  Nowadays I run primarily in 5Ks (3.1 miles).  I have even placed in the top 3 females in some 5K races I have participated in.
Keira: Can you share your blurb with us?  Sure!

Anytime, Anywhere, is a collection of explicit erotic short stories.  Included in these stories are the following scenarios:  Two college roommates attend an end-of-the-year bash in a nearby apartment. It isn't your everyday college party! Read on to see what exactly these roommates do with strangers they just met!  Mena is flying for business, again. But this time she is seated next to another business traveler who proposes they make the flight a little more fun. What exactly will Mena and her flying companion do at 30,000 feet and will they get caught?  Shelby goes out to a club with some friends. She is having fun dancing until a stranger comes up behind her and wants to dance with her. Only, he doesn't want to just dance. What all happens on the dance floor? Read to find out!  Corinne is at a baseball game with her boyfriend. But he quickly learns it's not just a game to Corinne. He sees her exhibitionist side come out for the first time, and much, much more!  Brandon is faced with a project for his college Communications class. The group whose web video gets the most hits gets the A.  Brandon has an idea for the video, but will his classmates Megan and Brittany go for it? Read on to get a behind-the-scenes view of what goes on in a college dorm room!  A couple attends an outdoor summer concert. She is really into the band, but he is into her, in more ways than one!

This is just a short description of a handful of the stories included in Volumes I and II.  There are more stories included in the ebook.
